Professional scammers

How do they get away with stripping every cent you could possibly make? First it's the double final value fee which terms say there is only one fee, which is incorrect. You want your funds direct deposit well guess what there's another $2 even thoi you paid the final value fee and $.30--$.40 second final final value fee or processing charge, so you're charge multiple times for processing. Then taxes are wrongfully charged by .09-10% when most are .07% per dollar so they're profiting off the IRS. Next they add your shipping label, taxes,on to your selling price to get their 13.6% which is never the same always 13.25%-13.6%. But when they add taxes on an the label you're being charged for someone else's cost...like saying do you want pay for labels or buyer....it's the same **bleep** thing just makes the buyer falesly believe they're getting free shipping or to make the seller think the buyer is responsible except it's paid and taken from the total amount either way so more fraudulence.. (unjust enrichment)..Next what gets me all this taxes collected people do understand under a certain threshold ($2500!!) those taxes are not required to be filed with the irs and eBay keeps all the taxed amount I just sold item total 57$ after their taxes and stuff an after all said an done I get released $30 outta $60 that's flipping 50% plus you just profited off two gov entities the USPS and IRS...only reason one continues to use eBay after learning the unethically made terms which are never what they are said to be(breach contract) is cause the need the money so they do it loss or not! Mercari charges on e flat fee and always reasonable it's just a long spell of time on sales made.  Customer care has no concern for the issues at hand and continue to do so without any regard for seller or buyer.  I mean if you give a refund guess what bam another fee charged or added on them subtracted from your profits. Smh something needs done about this even if eBay needs removed from the field!

eBay fees are clearly shown on the fees page.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822&st=3&pos=1&query=Sellin...

You are charged a final value fee on the total payment that your buyer pays just like all other payment processors do. When you use your card anyplace the merchant pays fees on the total.

There is no charge to have your payouts sent to your bank account and you can have that done daily if you choose. The $2 express payout fee is optional and only charged if you choose to pay it to get your funds immediately instead of waiting a day or 2 for the transfer.

eBay collects sales tax from buyers when they check out as required by the laws of the state the item is delivered to. Where the seller is has no bearing on the tax collected. eBay collects, files, and sends the tax to the buyer's state for the seller so they do not have to do that themselves for each of the over 13,000 different sales tax districts in the US. Paying a few cents per order for this is a great bargain.

eBay has nothing to do with federal or state income taxes unless they are required by law to withhold an amount. There is no legal threshold under which you are not required to claim your income when you file your federal or state taxes. The threshold is only for them to issue you a 1099-K form. You are required to claim all income whether you receive a 1099-K or not.

It is your choice where you sell your items but all online marketplaces must follow the laws.

Re: Professional scammers

I used to have a permanent booth at a large regional flea market, and continue to do a local craft fair every year.  I use Square for taking credit cards.  They charge me a processing fee that runs between 2% and 3.5%, depending on whether I read the chip, the swipe, or enter the information manually.  Then I pay a fee to transfer the money to my checking account.

I used to do direct sales from 1988 - 2000.  I did Mary Kay/Tupperware/Discovery Toys.  The companies don’t pay the processing fees for accepting credit cards.  The individual sales people pay it.

I’m currently driving for Uber.  They keep approximately 30%+/- of what the riders pay.  Then when I go to transfer funds out of the account into my checking account, there’s a $1.99 fee for each transfer.

My point?  It’s useless to point out the fact that eBay charges fees.  If you are using a website to process your income, there are going to be fees.  (BTW, I’m getting alimony from my ex, it’s processed electronically, my ex pays a $5 processing fee for each transfer).

Youre trying single out eBay and cry foul.  Your arguments don’t really have merit, though.
