Hello,
Earlier today, I asked a question and received a great response from the Community. A buyer had purchased an item from me but asked me to hold it until the end of May. I cancelled the item for "buyer asked to cancel". The buyer just contacted me with these words:
"I have had other sellers hold products that I have bought because of vacation. So unless this is a brand new rule, I don’t agree with it."
I replied that I would gladly hold onto one for her to repurchase when her vacation is over.
I hope her reply is polite, otherwise I guess her feedback will be a negative.

If payment has already been made and if the initial message was through the eBay message system then if they leave negative or neutral feedback you can have customer service look at the messages to see that they wanted you to hold an item for an extended period of time before shipping. This would not be acceptable to eBay.
If the buyer has not paid yet then eBay would have cancelled the purchase after 30 days of non payment if not sooner.
