On a multiple listing how do you add photos to a variation

I pick edit variation, add the variation, add its photos

next i pick edit variation, add a new variation but do not get the option to add photos for this second variation.

i have 21 variations to add to this listing and each one has it’s own photos!

On a variation listing, there are 2 places to add photos

1) the default photos

2) the variation photos if you want the photos to change (I usually do).

Scroll down and you will be able to chose to show either the default photos OR the option photos.

Pick your own attribute (my attribute is "crime cork number"... lol)

Do i add all the variations first then go Back and add the photos?

Yes, add your attributes and options, then any default photos (like a group photo)

Then add the photos, pricing, count, UPC and SKU if you need them.

Your attributes are something like:
Item Size
Item Color

Then your options are like

Small

Medium 

Large

or

Red 

Green
Blue

Add them all, then I advise "save for later" and reopen, then add your photos.

I like to save a few times in the process as I don't want to lose all my work if something happens.

New problem the listing is live but i failed to load a couple of the variant photos so i revised the listing added the photos to the proper variant but when a saved the revised listing the new photos were not included!!

When you add photos, or change anything else on the "edit variations" page, you have to save twice.

Once at the bottom of the Edit Variations page

and once at the bottom of the listing page.

Can you let me know if that works for you?
