Re: Non payment question

Sellers haven't been able to leave negative feedback on a buyer since 2008.

What you can do is after 4 full days from purchase, you can file for a Cancellation of the transaction using the reason as Buyer did not pay.  That puts a strike on the buyer's account.

Good luck.

Re: Non payment question

Buyers cannot be given negative feedback, and a positive rating with a negative comment could be removed by eBay for violating policy and could cost the seller a defect.

eBay's reasoning can be found here:

https://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/changes.html#o4

If a user commits to a purchase but does not send an actual payment, after four full days the seller can cancel for nonpayment and give the "buyer" a strike. Be sure to set your buyer requirements to reject bids or purchases from users with two or more nonpayment strikes in the last year.

You can also add the buyer's username to your Blocked Buyer List to prevent that user from bidding on or buying any of your items even if other sellers do not file nonpayment cases against the buyer.

You can avoid nonpayment issues by listing your item for a fixed price with immediate payment required and by not accepting any offers. That way the buyer must complete checkout and actually pay in order to proceed.

Very few sellers look at a buyer's feedback before allowing them to purchase from them.

That is the importance of filing those cancellations for non payment.  The buyer gets a strike.  Soon if the buyer keeps this behavior up they will start running into sellers they can't purchase from because they have too many unpaid strikes.

You can protect yourself too.  Check your Site Preferences for Buyer Requirements.  Make sure you have them set the way you want.  For unpaid strikes the strictest is 2 in the last 12 months.  That is what I use.

Re: Non payment question

Your comments Bad Pay Artist and so forth are against policy and if your buyers  were to report you eBay would remove the feedback comment and give you a policy violation.

Sellers can only leave  positive feedback with a positive comment.

Don't leave any feedback if they don't pay.

@lampone1w01

It is not your responsibility to "tip off individuals that bidder is a deadbeat. Ebay does that for you in the form of Unpaid Item strikes on the buyer's account.

Most sellers have their buyer requirements set to block bidders with 2 or more Unpaid Item strikes on their account.
