I am trying to help others avoid the scam I was part of. Why isn’t my negative feedback, with pictures, showing in the sellers profile?

Hi @in2numbers
One reason could be it violated eBay's Feedback Policy.
Did you try working things out with the seller before trying to leave Negative Feedback? If not you should have because that is what eBay encourages "Trading partners" (their term for a Buyer and Seller on a transaction) to do before taking action.
Please note I am not saying the FB you tried to leave wasn't justified ...

I appreciate your honesty. I did contact the seller. The item received was not the item pictured and yet I was left to pay the return shipping. That's what I was hoping to resolve. Thank you.

When opening a return request, there is an option to select "item doesn't match description or pictures". Selecting that option would have forced the seller to pay return shipping.
The photos that can be attached to feedback are in the test stage, and are not yet allowed to appear in feedback. So if your feedback were to appear, the photos won't at this time. But that should not be the reason for feedback not appearing.

Hi @in2numbers
Actually, when an item is not as described you can file a return citing the reason that it does not match the description or pictures. You get a pre paid shipping label as part of the claim process and the Seller is charged for that return label. You ship the item back, the Seller has 2 days to refund you. If they don't you go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in to force a refund.

Thank you Mr. L. I chose "didn't like" but should have chosen "not as described". You have certainly been more helpful than this seller was. They did offer me a refund of $15.00 and said I could keep the $54 shoes. I declined. They never offered free return shipping even when I supplied them with pictures. I can't see on eBay where I can get any further help and I thought the feedback might do that.

Thank you very much for your response.

@in2numbers Unfortunately, using less than Positive Feedback to get something is a violation of eBay's Feedback policy: Feedback policies | eBay
It would fall under the Extortion section of the policy. The Seller could have the Feedback removed if it violates policy.

Ok, I can understand that. Thank you.

However, there is no way that I am seeing to change the reason for the return to "not as described" and I cannot find any help from eBay, so I guess it just has to stay the way it is.

I was finally able to speak with someone at eBay and I got to change my return reason, got a refund for the postage and got the negative feedback removed. 🙂
