Items shipped from unexpected source

Have buyers been surprised by shipments direct from a retailer (not mentioned in the sale listing), where the price paid is significantly less than the shipping retailer would have charged?  Suspicious about how item was ordered thru the retailer.

Yes, I have had my Ebay purchases sent directly from the retailer, which means the seller was dropshipping.

As far as pricing, it IS allowed for sellers to sell items for profit, marking up the price from the retail stores.
