I sent the wrong item to a customer. Buyer has not responded to my emails or phone calls. I have requested that they return the item as it was sold to another buyer.

@rthesz1877 You can not force the buyer to co-operate. Did you offer to send the buyer a prepaid return label for the item in eBay messages as a JPG? You can buy the label on pirateship.com for the same discounted rate as eBay. Pirateship will refund you after 30 days if the label is not used.
I personally would send a return label asking please return the item. I would offer a small discount on a future purchase for the inconvenience. Receiving a return label might prod them to do the morally right thing.
If you don't have another of the same item to ship to the correct buyer then you have to apologize and let them know you are attempting to get the item back. For now you should cancel as Out Of Stock. You do unfortunately receive a defect for this cancelation reason. I would let the buyer know that I will contact them should I get the item back and will relist it specially for them when I do.
