I'm having difficulty entering the redemption code on my ebay gift card.

When I enter the nine-digit code on the card I get an entry error code. I am certain that I have entered the code correctly. Please help.

Ebay gift cards have either a 13-digit number under a security coating that must be scraped off gently with the edge of a coin, or else a nine-digit code followed by a four digit code under a security coating.
