You would think if you're selling an item you have more than 2 of, that the shipping price would simply increase for each additional item purchased, but it seems to only be a one time price by default. Which means if you have something that sells for $10 and costs $10 to ship, then someone can simply buy 10 of them for $100 and still only $10 in shipping, and you end up losing $90 (more or less depending on how the item needs to be packed) on shipping.
It doesn't explain this anywhere, though I was really lucky to have discovered this through someone attempting to make an offer on multiple items which I was able to decline, otherwise I would have lost money. And I can't find any options or settings to change this.
I tired looking up posts relating to this but the information is outdated or unclear. How are you supposed to charge shipping for each item and not just the same price for 1 as for 100?

Hi @jaco875
Hmmm, I have my Combined shipping set up to ADD all shipping costs ... I seem to recall on a multiple item purchase off ONE listing with multiple quantities that the shipping charges match the number of items purchased ... typically its only 2 but it seems like 2 shipping charges are added together, I typically refund the overage.

When you create an Ebay listing for an item, you can specify the shipping charge for ADDITIONAL items within the same listing. When you set up your listing with multiple items, it will expand your shipping option to charge for each additional item purchased. This is what is may look like:

I just added a couple of your items to my cart and eBay added the shipping costs together for the total shipping. I didn't see any items listed where you had multiples.
What item did you see this happening with?

The above applies to Flat rate shipping (green arrows) but not Calculated shipping (blue arrows).

@lady_madonna More of an addition then correction my friend ... I never use Flat rate so your post showed me something I've never seen. I use Calculated and set my Combined shipping up years ago in Account settings to ADD all shipping costs so I don't ever remember seeing what the OP described on multiple quantity sales on one listing with 2 or more available. I don't get them a lot but I never recall being shorted on the paid shipping from my customers ...

I don't have those options at all, the format is also completely different

Those are separate listings, my issue is with an item I have duplicates of, which I've removed for obvious reasons until I can get it sorted out

I don't know how you get those options, I just have what looks like a baby version of that, with no discernible way to enable the "normal" format

Look in the upper right of the listing form to see if there is a link to an Advanced or Business version (could be another name) and click that if there is.

I work on a PC not the phone app ... I know the app is a slimmed down version of the tool I use. I don't know if this will work or not but I created a Sample listing Template, link below. It "may" open you up in the tool that I use ... let me know if that works or not.

There's only a gear icon which just shows me "Listing preferences" with basic shipping details

"the listing tool isn't working" 😔

Are you using a phone or a computer. If a phone, try on a computer. And if you could post a screenshot of that you are seeing, that may help.
