I selected a "reason for return" option from the dropdown menu. After typing the "additional comment" section I realized a different selection better fits my reason for the return. How do I change the reason for return?

If you have already sent the Return Request, the reason cannot be changed.

@lady_madonna
I have not sent the return request yet. I have started the request and am on step two towards submitting it. The step that asks for additional comments and requires me to add photos.

If you have not submitted the Return Request yet, you should be able to hit the back button and start over.

The back button on the browser if grayed out and deactivated (cannot be pressed). The webpage itself has no back button that I have found. I tried closing the browser and starting over from the "Purchases" page by selecting "Purchase History" under "My ebay" then selecting "More Actions" next to the item then "Return this Item". It bypasses the drop-down menu altogether leading me back to the same page I closed that askes for additional comments and pictures. The page has original return reason choice already displayed. I tried using an entirely different browser; same result.

It sounds like your Return Request has already been filed, and is available to add additional comments and details.

It says "photos are required for this return" but I haven't submitted any photos yet. That implies that return has not been submitted because the required information has not been provided. There is also a button at the bottom of the screen that says "continue". That button is grayed out/deactivated insinuating that lest photos are submitted and the button then pressed, the return will not be requested.

I navigated to "check the status of your return" - "my requests" under "Returning items" in Customer Service. I chose "All open & closed" in the "past 90 days" - It displays a 0 (zero) and says there are no items to show. ... It appears eBay believes I have no open return requests.

I ended up calling eBay and speaking to a human. They said my reason for thinking I needed to change the return reason wouldn't affect the return, then put it through for me "required" pictures notwithstanding. (Just wanted to update for folks who took the time to try and help me.)
