I don't recommend using the mobile app, but if you have to you click the Place Bid button on the listing page and follow directions (you might have to specify a payment method and shipping address or confirm to use your default ones to authorize automatic payment when that is required). Bid your TRUE maximum without regard to what others appear or don't appear to have bid, and don't be in a hurry to bid.
