How Do I Handle This?

I had placed an order for a Christmas item but before the seller could send it to me it was damaged beyond repair by their Post Office.  The seller e-mailed me and apologized and issued me a complete refund.  It is still on my list of items for feedback but eBay also knows the entire situation and I cannot respond to something I didn't receive.  How do I or do I have to put anything as far as feedback is concerned?

Feedback is optional and can be left for up to 60 days on a transaction.  For Selling accounts, Cancelled and Unpaid items that were cancelled will remain on the leave Feedback list for 90 days ... for some strange reason considering the transactions were completed via the Cancellation process.  They were advised of this short coming but have not fixed it.
