Flagged

I was flagged for trying to sell an antique cookie jar that was deemed offensive by eBay for assumed depiction of an African/Black American woman.Yet they allow for example Washington Redskins sport memorabilia,a team that disbanded in 2020 for it's bigoted concept?

A cookie jar depicting a black person, i.e. slavery era is offensive.

Not allowed: "Items with racist, anti-Semitic, or otherwise demeaning portrayals, for example through caricatures or other exaggerated features, including figurines, cartoons, housewares, historical advertisements, and golliwogs"

Re: Flagged

Its more about the principal of what's offensive than anything specific.

Take a good-look at your cookie jar and tell me if you were a black person would YOU find it offensive?

Re: Flagged

I am a Black American just trying to sell a cookie jar and other antique memorabilia but have just lost hundreds of dollars because of this. There are numerous other dealers and buyers who think this policy is insane because eBay seems to pick and choose what offensive is.

Re: Flagged

Unless there is some true definition of offensive.ebay refuses to give me a cent to my account over this.
