25 years on ebay. 100% positive feedback over 1,200.
I had a buyer leave me negative feedback as they were new to ebay and although it was like pulling teeth, I convinced them to remove it. They claim they updated it and said it might take a week for it to be updated.
Does that sound right? I know there is a small window to actually have it updated so I'm trying to understand when it will happen.
ebay customer service is absolutely no help as it's next to impossible to speak to a human being. Do they know they are the most customer unfriendly company in existence?

Did you send the buyer a feedback revision request?
If so, the buyer didn't complete it because the feedback would be been revised to positive.
It's possible the buyer called customer service, but customer service doesn't remove feedback, but may have sad something like "wait a week"
If you haven't sent the formal feedback revision request, here's how to do it.

If you sent it already, you can politely reply to the buyer that it looks like it didn't "stick", would they try again?

@xferntx If you get it removed then great but the feedback the buyer left should be allowed since you said the item was Used and it's not working. Used means working condition on eBay.
Copied from your listing> An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections.
Did you offer the buyer a return shipping label and refund?

Yeah the post doesn't say it was working, nor do I know for sure that it doesn't. Clearly a lesson to be more specific in the future as there wasn't any intent to misinform. I offered a refund and they agreed to revise feedback so that's what I'm curious about now.

I did send it and got confirmation from a live agent that they submitted it. Just not sure why it's taking so long based on everything I'm reading it's supposed to happen immediately. I'd hate to go back to them because they are clearly a novice at ebay and getting legible responses is tough. I'll try one more time though.

Live agents can't remove feedback you need to use the feedback request option on the bottom of this page>

Phone agents often say what a member wants to hear so that they get good ratings.
Your only other option is sending a feedback revision request to the buyer IF you have worked things out and they are happy then they may be willing to change the feedback.
@eastlaneave shared how to send the buyer a feedback revision request.

Sent the feedback request revision the day it happened. After getting agreement through chat with them that they agreed they would accept the refund and update feedback. They said they sent it through but it would take until March 7th. That's the part I'm unclear about - why it would take so long.

Sorry your comments have not been clear about who you asked for feedback removal and how. Buyers only have 10 days to respond to the revision request. You only get 5 requests a year.
You should also make sure a buyer is happy FIRST before asking for a feedback revision. Never ask for a revision in exchange for a refund ( that sounds like what you did, but again I might be misunderstanding you)

Totally followed that strategy. First reached out to find out how I could make them happy. Didn't get a response so sent the revision request. A day or two went by and still didn't get any communication. Sent a follow up message and finally started to get a back and forth going where they apologized and said they would update. Appreciate the advice.
