Electric Rechargeable Hand Warmer sold via eBay (2412-0114)

I recently purchased one of the above and received it today. Tonight I receive a product recall notification from ebay concerning safety of the item. It may be a fire risk! The product risk notice was published on 11th February. Why was it possible that I could buy the item in the first place and why is the item still listed on ebay by a number of sellers this evening. Surely ebay could do better?

Hi @si452243

Yes, eBay can always do better but in this case they haven't.  So you have received a defective item but I would file a return via the item in your purchase history using the reason defective or does not match pictures or description.

Do this within 30 days of receipt, otherwise you will have to pursue a return or refund via PayPal or credit card dispute depending on how you funded the purchase.

You will be issued a return shipping label and the Seller will have 2 days to refund you once they receive the item back.  Failing that you can go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.
