Ebay saved messages

I know all of the message folders are purged every six months and none can really be deleted but one thing puzzles me.

I understand Ebay needs to save contact between buyers and sellers in the event of a dispute or some such, but not being able to PERMANENTLY delete the Ebay initiated "Seller Offer" or "Get $5 off" and "A $50 credit... etc. makes absolutely no sense!

If I need to search my messages or deleted folders it would be much easier without having to wade through the excessive Ebay or seller initiated sales promotion messages.

Re: Ebay saved messages

PS, clearly Ebay purges these folders for a good reason and I expect it's to prevent messages from consuming valuable storage space, so that further adds to the "it makes no sense" to keep unwanted messages where no user / seller dispute could be required?

Hi @gnappi

You can move messages you don't want to see again to the Trash folder.

"You can move messages you don't want to see again to the Trash folder."

Understood but why do I have to handle them at all? Ideally I'd like to stop ALL Ebay generated messages from ever entering my Ebay space.

Re: Ebay saved messages

Using the "classic" message format it is possible to separate eBay messages from member messages, which should make it much easier to sort through messages from other members to find what you are looking for.

Actually, it appears that you can also see member messages only using the newer "chat-style" format as well, now, using this link:
