Buying on eBay

My wife is interested in a boat that is listed on Facebook, the seller says eBay shipping department has possession of the boat & eBay is handling the transaction.

Boat is very cheap & as per the Facebook seller is not listed on eBay.

Doesn’t smell right to me.

Does eBay handle financial & shipping for property not listed on their site?

This is a common scam, and you are dealing with a criminal who is trying to steal your money. There is no boat...only stolen photos of a boat.

If the item isn't listed on eBay and if you don't purchase it through the eBay listing, the transaction has nothing to do with eBay.

It's a scam. EBay does not have a "Shipping Department" and there is not ebay involvement for items found on other sites.
