So, still a rookie and this seems to the week I'm being tested. I typically list Buy It Now but if I think I've actually got something, no comps, etc. , I'll list as an auction and let the market decide. However, I can't bring myself to start @.99 when I know for sure it would be more.
Listed a vintage toy for 9.99 starting bid with no Buy It Now option.
15 minutes after listing I get a question. But it's actually an offer in the form of a question. Then I realized he used the 'question' functionality to make a lowball offer.
I politely thanked him and said I think I can do better. We'll see.
He comes back again, up just a buck - and again as a question.
Wouldn't this be against eBay policy? I'm not looking to get anyone in trouble, I just want to know. Seems wrong to me.
I want to just tell him to either bid or wait and see if I end up needing to relist.
Again...rookie question but I appreciate the guidance.
Thanks!

Offers need to be made through the listing, not through Ebay messaging. Ignore them.
