Access denied message

Hello,

When I try to go to the page where I pay for an item, I am getting a "Access Denied". I have tried using a different browser, but I still get this message. Can anyone tell me why I am getting this message?

"Access Denied" errors when trying to check out or pay usually indicate some sort of network error.

If you are using a VPN, try disabling it.

If you are using a custom firewall, that may be causing problems.

Try paying using your phone or laptop when not connected to your usual network wifi.

Turning off the VPN did solve the problem.

But why would EBAY send that message?

The message is not actually from eBay, I think, but from Akamai. eBay uses Akamai to evaluate and analyze web traffic, and in some specific cases, to block that traffic.

It is possible that the IP address assigned by your VPN has been blocked previously by Akamai for various reasons related to the VPN itself or a previous VPN user.

I previously had a very similar Access Denied message come up with Chase Bank, and couldn't figure out what was going on.
