I not saying that anyone who doesn't immediately get the connections is dumb, just those people who claim there isn't ANY connection at all. If you were smart enough to get all of these you would have long since used that sort of intelligence to cure a disease or work out a foolproof gambling scheme or something...

I find many of these far-fetched at best, and rediculous at worst. Not all of them; some were "easy." But this 'latteral thinking' is just another word for trying to work backwards through a madman's word game. It makes sense afterwards, becuase the person who created it started with the answer, and went more and more vaugue until they got a wacky "clue." Just the fact that they had to alter/add to two of the clues already (that I know of) shows it's not "rigged," just fiendishly difficult.

.. and when ones like that stupid tax clue get solved, we're all going to groan and say "That's the most feeble, tenuous link I've ever heard! This game sucks! Bleh!"....

... then we'll all look for the next clue....

Think of it this way: If eBay had said they were randomly hiding listings worth $1,000 without giving any clues (i.e., winners would have to be lucky to stumble upon one), no one would be complaining. (And, incidentally, it would have driven more traffic to more auctions, thereby helping rather than hurting sellers.) People would just be happy if they found one. So eBay makes it easier than that by giving clues, and everyone's ticked that they can't figure them out! Nothing is free.

I'm not ticked that I'm not winning. I would find some pleasure in playing the game if I thought I was doing a good job figuring out the clues. I'm not dense. I realize finding the key word that hits the prize takes LUCK due to traffic and time constraints. Just do not waste my time with obscure clues when you invited me to play the game in the first place.
