I bought this thing. I dont know if it is an old cooking utensil or not but believe it may be.
It is about 12 inches long. It has what appears to be a square shaped shallow dipper on each end. One larger than the other.
it has the word J MARRIOTT stamped into the inside bottom of one of the "dippers"
Has anyone seen one of these before? If so can you tell me what it was used for, age, etc?
Thank you for your help.

This is the one I bought. The seller didn't know exactly what it was either.

Thank you. It will give me something to research when I get in this evening. So far I have been unable to find anything like it.

We finally got it figured out. Its actually and antique James Marriott foundry moulding tool. It was made in England in the early 1900's. I was sent a link to one almost idectical to mine being sold on Ebay in Germany. That seller has his identified as an 19th Century Pharmacy Spoon made by Monk. His is actually a foundry molding tool also. Monk made foundry tools.
I appreciate everyones help, suggestions and links.
Thank You
