eBay UK (United Kingdom) has discontinued having stores on their site.
Concern is, that the USA site is heading the same way, especially with the fixed price listings for 30 days. This is VERY expensive compared to stores. I can't see it happening, but then, who knows?

You know I wondered the same thing Jillian, if they would now do away with stores after doing that. :|

There's been a lot of buzz in forums about the possible removal of stores, and the pinks keep showing up to say that it isn't true. Yet they did it in the UK, so who knows. Another rumor is that in future they will only be offering the more expensive Pro-Stores.
For sellers who have thousands of items in stores, having to switch to the fixed-price listings would absolutely kill them. If you have more than 30 or so listings, it's cheaper to have a store.

Why is eBay making so many changes this year with little notice or with little explanation of their goals? Seems very unbusinesslike!

The thing with Pro-Stores . . . last time I looked into it, you also had to have an eBay store. I was thinking about setting up a Pro-Store until I discovered that requirement - no way do I want to pay monthly fees for 2 eBay-related stores. And the weird thing is that you couldn't post a link from eBay to Pro-Stores. Go figure . . .
I sure hope they don't drop stores, that would be a very bad thing.
