My best news is that I'm in here reading your news! You all just warm my heart! Jillian, you're a genius for starting this. :-) Jan, omg, what a blessing that your grandson is safe and sound. Glenn, that portrait has so much love in it--how beautiful! Ann, Betty White--awesome! So here's my good news so far this year: I did the cover art for a new techno thriller novel, "Lost In the Sky" by Douglas Perry; I did graphic art and formatting for an adorable new kids' book, "Why Am I Dark" by Destry Ramey; I went to Disneyland with my sis and best friend (who we hadn't seen in two years); I am a *novelist*! Our book goes to the publisher this month FOR SURE. (I thought it would be out by last Christmas. I learned a few things.) 😉 And I ran my first 5k race on the 6th. Today I attended the artists' reception for the Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society's annual Member Show, which started today and runs until November 13th. I have a watercolor painting in the show, first show I've entered in years and the first time I've ever exhibited a watercolor painting. It didn't win an award, but maybe someone will decide to buy it. Sandra

Wow Good News I never seen this thread before. I LOVE IT!!! Well my good news today is that I am a Great Aunt. My niece had a beautiful baby boy yesterday. I will be posting pictures tomorrow on my facebook. He is a doll.

Congratulations to both of you. Sandra, even if your art doesn't win, I think it's pretty exciting just to see your own work on display. I've only entered shows a few times, but I found it really rewarding just to be there, win or not. And hey, you might get a sale. Darlene, how exciting! Feel free to post a photo of the little guy here so we can see him. LOL. I think you probably never saw this thread before because it got buried. No one had any good news. I HAD some good news last week (sold my house), but it's not going to be good news for long. The term "buyer's market" has turned into "extortionist's market." People assume that sellers are all so desperate that they make an offer, then demand 50k for "repairs." Oh well. I guess the good news is that we're NOT desperate to sell, so Mr. Extortionist can go elsewhere. :-p -- Kathy "I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel."
