Yes, all delivery services as some point in time have to rerout their packages- meaning your parcels being sent out. It is unfornate, But reroutes can occur for numerous reasons. Since this was internal, I would automatically rule out a misdelivered package - delivered to wrong address.
Reroutes occur, when mail on a plane has to be diverted do to weather.
Reroutes occur, when mail on a truck or motor vehicle has to go around a fire, a motor accident, Flash flooding, the terminal it is going to is closed for power outages, renovations, etc.
Now that the post office is tracking nearly all mail by barcodes and if you purchased the online tracking, you find out more about your packages than you have ever known before.
I am assuming all your shipments are fine.
For Shippers: Always try and make sure you have the correct Recipients address. Recipients, if you have to- Write down and stick your address to your computer -!.
Think I am being funny, obnoxious, tickling bones you do not like to confront?
Well, I trace packages all day long! This is a true incident.
A highly educated man ordered a phone from Verison. Well, Verison has orders with most shippers that the packages must deliver to the address on the package. If the Address is incorrect, the package must be returned to Verison. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE!
This highly educated man called in very upset! He gave Verison his old Address. - Moral of the story - This man had not lived at the Address on the Verison package in over ten years!!! No joke! He got Verison on His other phone screaming to have the Address Changed. The agent for Verison explained it had to be returned. Of course Verison agent immediately calmed Him with offers of a special delivery from one of their local stores.
Yes, we all need to know our Home address!
Another funny thing about Recipients: When having packages shipped to you -- Please check All the doors to your house for your deliverys.
Yes, I get people calling in everyday - complaining that the courier or post man delivered to the wrong door. Mind you, I am not talking about a house that has more than one family. Yes, some people have two mailboxes, and the poor postman has delivered mail to the wrong door.
But only one family in the house.
Strange!
