Thanks for explaining all. The ceramic base interests me. It sounds wonderful. I do miniatures and have a lot of artist friends that do, and this sounds like the type of surface that would interest them. Usually use ivorine, ivory and other fairly slick surfaces.
It would certainly be wonderful for ACEOs, too.
Good luck with your endeavours.

Thanks for your comments, Jillian. Yes, the material does have a beautiful feel, much like the surfaces you mention. We have been asked to produce blanks for people who make dolls houses too, they want them for floor and wall tiles, which I never would have thought of! We may even produce them at some stage too. We are currently working on a series of oval cameo's which I am particularly interested in, for painting and photographic decals. The list of applications just keeps getting longer and longer. all the best, Rachel

Thank you for the invite, wasn't aware of the discussion boards and groups?
I am a self taught artist from the Unitied Kingdom, I mainly do realism animal studies/pet portraits in graphite pencil, but just started to do coloured opencil ACEOS for Ebay, my main subject is currently British birds, but once I have done enough of those,I will be moving on to other subjects, most likely British mammals!

Certainly sounds interesting Rachel. I'll take a better look when I have more time. I've already forwarded your information to some people who expressed their interest. 🙂

Welcome! You're definitely not the only one who didn't know about the community side of eBay. But glad you found out! Birds are popular as ACEOs, and your work is lovely. Great to have you here.

Hello & welcome, Kat Tatz. We all make mistakes. Groups are a great place to learn. There is a lot of information in this group, but also the 'rules' keep changing. If you have any questions, just ask! Great to have you here.

Hi! Thanks, Jillian, for already welcoming me when I posted cards last month. I'm just learning this group environment and thought I ought to formally introduce myself.
My name is Kathy Mills, and I'm one of those people who got into trouble for drawing on walls as a kid. Maybe that happens to everyone, but I guess I was a stubborn kid because I kept doing it. 😄
Here on Ebay is the first time I've seriously tried to sell any of my art, and I have become addicted to doing Art Cards.
Thanks to everyone for sharing art, ideas and other info.!
Kathy

Welcome Kathy - both to you and your wonderful artwork. I didn't draw on walls, but definitely was one who constantly drew as a child, as far back as I remember.
Glad that you have ventured into the world of selling on eBay, and wish you tons of success in doing so.
One thing we always say is that ACEOs ARE addictive, and that is also something I can relate to.
Thank you for sharing your work with us all.

Hi, I'm Jeff Garrison of Spokane, Washington State, USA. Just getting into the ACEO thing. My collection is rather small at the moment but I have obtained some that I really like.
I have also designed and listed a few and will continue to work on some as time goes on.
My main thing right now is painting water based acrylic on wooden plaques and my commission que is pretty full, but this ACEO thing is sort of a fun way to vent short bursts of creativity in between major projects.
Here's my latest ACEO listing on eBay...
