Mailing aceos

Hey there it's me again with another silly question that I'm sure has been discussed before:) So I wanted to hear how eveyone's mailing their aceos. Just to see if there is anything I could do better. First I always put the aceo in an acid free, safe sleeve. Then I sandwich the art card with my business card between two pieces of cardboard then I mail it in a thank you card with exact postage: a 39 cent stamp, a 3 cent stamp and a 10 cent. I write on the card: Do not bend! on both sides. So far so good. No complaints, nothing damaged. I imagine if I started getting any bids over $40 (as if) I would perhaps add insurance or something. Any other ideas? Thanks, Jen

Mailing aceos

Hi Jana, I always wanted to try origami! Maybe this is my start. When I fist tried this method I weighed it on the scale at work just to be sure. It was fine. It is really only 2 1/3 pieces of paper and some tape. The 1/3 coming from cutting the paper the the receipt is printed on. I think it was around 9-11 ounces with envelope. I should have mentioned that I usually write my note on the paper that is used in step 5 above. Hope this is helpful K

K, yes, that makes sense. I was thinking that a LOT more paper was involved!! Origami is VERY intersting AND some pieces are VERY HARD. Someone might be able to sell some of the more difficult ones on ebay. 😄 Jana

Mailing aceos

I like to make my whole delivered piece into it's own little work of art.. I love embellishing things and it gives the buyer a treat.. I take one of my home printed gift cards, and with a piece of card, make a pocket inside using double sided tape. Then I wrap the aceo in tissue paper, slip it into the 'pocket' and place card between two pieces of rigid cardboard, wrap in bubblewrap, and post in a 'tough bag' from the post office. I know how rough the post can be on art, and take great care in packing. I have received lovely comments on my packaging and the free card inside. :-) Jen
