Different format on eBay.fr ?

Sometimes if I need inspiration or if I'm bored, I go surf on eBay.fr (France). Heh, I knew that other funny language I speak would come in handy somehow, even living in the US. Well, I noticed a different format there, for the page layout. There's no thumbnail photo at top and larger at the bottom, it's just one medium up near the top. Also, sellers are categorized as professional or personal vendors (professionel et particulier). I wonder if they're planning similar changes to the .com site? Note: I was not surfing through the designer clothing and accessories categories, even though there are some great deals to be had there, but you have to convince the sellers to send to North America, they don't seem to like to do that. Second note: okay I was. My bad. I somehow rationalized that if I could sell some stuff on eBay and the "other E" site, I could treat myself to something nice. Heh. Busted. Just don't snitch on me to my husband.

That's ok. I've been snipped at by the best in Paris in person. Actually I got into a screaming argument with a cleaning woman in the Louvre. Not one of my better moments. One of my loudest though. My best friend was with me and was terrified the polizia would come take us away. I thought we - the cleaning woman and moi - both felt much better when finished. Afterwards I went to a lovely restaurant since I had worked up a glorious appetite and did the chef proud.

LOL. I wish it would have been on video and we could all share that moment. My ultimate snotty-ness story occurred when my cousin and I were at the Arc de Triomphe and had our map out, looking for how to get to our next destination. It was after we'd crossed the road to get to it, through six lanes of insane traffic all honking their horns at us, because we didn't know about the tunnels built for pedestrians, but that's a whole nuther story. So we had our map out, and some guy carrying a bunch of flowers approached us. I thought it was because he could see that we were pathetic lost foreigners and wanted to offer to help us (that's what I'd have done if I saw people with a map). But noooo, he looked up where he was going (maybe a hot date's apartement) and left without so much as a "merci" for using our map! I decided right then and there to out-snotty them, and when I finally did, they actually snapped to attention, like they have respect for people snottier than they are.

I'm sorry, Golders, but I can't believe that story. It is so uncharacteristic of your sweet, patient and civil nature to behave in such a way BEFORE lunch (and its liquid refreshment). --Say "refreshment" with a phony French accent for full effect.)

I'm not very good at phony French accents, but I'd be happy to say "You are all idiots" with a phony English accent. -- Kathy
