Cross promotion - The good and the ugly

Hello everyone, I would love to know your thoughts about cross-promotion. Every night I paint in my dreams, and this morning, the first thought that came into my mind as I woke up was "cross promotion". Do you think it's good or bad? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Thanks! Gigi

Sorry it took so long to answer. I received a request from another seller to cross-promote with her and I was wondering if that would be a good thing. Here is what ebay says about cross-promotion: "You can arrange with other sellers to cross-promote each other's items and get exposure to more buyers. Here's how it works: You request a connection with a seller you know and trust. Or, you receive a request from another seller, which you can accept or decline. After you both agree, a connection is formed. You will cross-promote each other's items whenever a buyer bids on or wins an item. Note: Other sellers' items are displayed separately from yours." I don't know much more thant that about cross-promotion - until I received the request I never even noticed you could do that... Thanks for your input. Gigi

I've done it with 2 other sellers that I admire. They both requested it from me. I can't really see any downside from it. It does help the other people, or at least hope so. But I don't mind if it does. ~Jillian
