Certificates of Authenticity....

Hello All-- I have a question about "Certificates of Authenticity"...I notice that many ACEO Sellers say that they include one with their artwork. I have never offered a "Certificate of Authenticity" with my art...partly because I am not sure what I am supposed to be "Certifying" or "Authenticating". Do you give a certificate with every art purchase? Only originals? What does/should the certificate say? Does the certificate seem to matter to your collectors? I would appreciate hearing everyone's opinion and/or experiences. Thanks very much! --SMD

I do mine to fit the size of the piece I am selling, Aceo coa are just a bit smaller than the cards, I just copy the relevent info from my listing, and paste into my templates, I'm lazy too, well not really cos that takes long enough, for me. I print as many as to fill an a4 card so as not to waste paper. I cant list here, I'll put one in my album. it will take a few minutes and then it will have to be ok'd :-)Linda

I've just posted 3 different ones in there, once its been verfied, you will be able to see them. I change them to suit whatever I've painted, origs, prints, sizes, you get the idea. If you go to my feedback sales and pull up an item you will see how the listing tranfers to the certificates....hope it gives you some ideas, it must be something youre happy with you dont have to do the same asanyone else, unless you want to of course.:-x

TY girls, I actually didn't have a clue what to do,when I started listing, just sort of went from the ATC guidelines, Then I found it easy to add a few different templates to my ebay account, then listed them as they would appear on the COA, it seemed to work OK. But I have to admit, I hate doing them, and the postal packaging, it really seems to eat into your painting time.(The buyers seem to like them though).Oh,I add the country of origin(Isle of Wight,England)for mine if its a OSWOA. I only put a picture in a high value larger painting,or pastel.:-D Oh I print them ona v.light card/heavy paper, mostly in cream, I was going to change the colour each year(pastels), but didnt, alas my life is paved with good intentions.! -- Edited by malinwoo at 05/18/2008 2:04 AM PDT

Re: Certificates of Authenticity....

Oh,I add the country of origin(Isle of Wight,England)for mine if its a OSWOA I REALLY appreciate it when sellers do that. I have ACEOs from all over the world, and I like to look over my collection and know where they came from. Sometimes I'll cut the return address off of the envelope and slip in in behind the art, just so I can remember who the artist was and their country of origin. I guess some collectors don't care, but I like to have a lot of information. -- Kathy

I don't put country. Maybe because I never know where I'll be living next. *lol* -- ~Jillian artist, Jillian Crider ... google me!
