I swear, if I hear the phrase "you should publish" one more time, I'm going to crawl in a corner and suck my thumb. Getting published is like climbing Mount Everest in flip flops - unless you do it yourself, in which case your book is too expensive for most people to buy. I've got stacks of short stories that can't be sold because "there is no magazine market for short stories (other than literary journals only contributors read) unless you have a popular novel currently in print." I have started several novels, but I'm obviously a sprinter, not a long distance racer, because I haven't finished any of them. In fact, I returned to drawing because I got sick of writing! :)
I checked out the greeting card market and most don't take submissions - they hire their own artist - unless of course, you are already a recognized artist. Sigh. I've been checking into art licensing, but that seems to require putting up a booth at trade shows in LA or NYC, and I don't want to board my 5 dogs, even if I could pony up the cost.
I love that you like my wierd interpretations and my art - I love posting aceos for challenges to get reactions! I am considering posting some of them on CafePress or Zazzle as greeting cards (I made 12 into a calendar last year for friends for Christmas), and I'm working on a query letter for a children's book I've done and illustrated.
I wish it were as easy to get published as to create! AND as much fun! Creating is the easy part!
