Bunny Question

unhappy cat in a bunny suit I painted this bunny and when I started to list it - my daughter started laughing at my idea that it is a bunny. She says it is an unhappy cat in a bunny suit. She showed me pictures of cats on the internet and bunnies - (still laughing) and I'm sorry but I'm not getting why she thinks it looks like a cat. So, I'm asking - does it look like a cat in a bunny suit? Did I do the eyes the wrong shape? Should I just start over and leave this one alone - or is it close to bunniness with a few changes? Thanks - I don't always know how to get someone who sees something wrong with it - to explain what needs to be different about it - I can always add more paint if I know what to do with it after all! - Cricket Diane

Bunny Question

I suppose it has kind of a round face like many cats do, rather than an elongated one. But it looks like a bunny to me and a very cute one at that!

Bunny Question

It is very cute, and it does seem to have more cat features; the almond shape eyes, the long front legs, the triangle nose of a different color. IF you wanted to work on it more, go for the full cat effect. Add whiskers, a seam on the ears, head band...tail. Leave it to our kids to add their 2c. My sons do the same thing.;-)

Bunny Question

It's a Persian bunny, but it's still a bunny. Besides, what's wrong with cats wearing bunny suits??? (Heather is all in a huff now) /Karen

Bunny Question

That could be what needed changing on my cat painting - I think his eyes were round. Good grief, that's backwards. I like the idea of the whiskers and making this a cat, maybe. with a bunny suit on . . . I wonder how much more catness is needed to pull it that direction? And - don't bunnies have full round cheeks? It looks like it to me.

Bunny Question

yes, its the eyes. they are wrong for a bunny. they should be more round and much darker. I would also elongate the face more and widen the ears. gosh I sound, critical, but you did ask. ;) I like his pose though!

Bunny Question

The eyes definitely look like a cat's. Bunnies have round eyes, and usually very dark. BUT, I LOVE Mel's idea of altering it and making it the cat in the bunny suit that your daughter saw. You wouldn't have to make too many changes. And a cat who has been dressed in a bunny costume would definitely be unhappy, so the face is fine. Another reason it would work as a cat disguised as a bunny is the ears. They sort of flop over each other, like those strap-on fake ears that people put on their pets. If you could alter it so that he's wearing a "bunny hat," I think you'd have something. You could also leave it as a bunny and just make the eyes more round, but since there are collectors for both cat and rabbit art, why not go for both? I hope I'm not being overly critical. It's a great piece, and I sure wouldn't give up on it. Kathy

Bunny Question

Its a bunny doing a very good cat impression -- a performer for heavens sake. Boy! Just try to go a little further than your type casting -- beyond what's expected -- and you become the target for ridicule and criticism. He ought to join Bernie bunny's one rabbit touring vaudeville show. He'd be a hit!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=2500... Of course, then they'd be a "team" on the way to becoming a troup.... they could work up a routine .... write a few numbers to do together .... You asked: How long are bunny legs? Answer: As long as they need to be to reach the ground. (drum riff ... Ting!) Sorry ... couldn't resist. :^O

Bunny Question

On a slightly more serious note (but, only slightly ... its finally Friday for heaven's sake), it is the eyes. He/she looks like she's actually thinking .. or plotting .. and bunnies, though sweet and cuddly, don't look like they do all that thinking, just reacting. The eyes usually look wide open and a tad blank, unless frightened ... or a truly frightening alien-type thing. Heavens! That altered picture with the hypnotic, huge grey eyes is enough to give you the willies. Hee hee, I kinda like it. 😉

Bunny Question

Sniff .... sniff ..... hmmmmm ... is that a new trend in the air I'm detecting? .... demonic bunnies and fuzzy little cute creatures ... with a very dark and scary side to 'em. Easter has me drowning in the sugary sweet type of little fella that at first was appealing , but now I long for something ..... different (she wrote, plotting as she rubbed her hands together. Her expression was slightly mad, with a disturbing and mirthless, lop-sided smile that warned of mayhem to come.)]:)
