Best Days to Post ACEOs on EBAY?

Does anyone have an opinion as to the best days to post ACEOs to Ebay?

Oh, well... I have read so many opinions on this! Plus I have experimented quite a bit with auction end days. In my opinion the best days are; Sunday Evening, Tuesday Evening, and Thursday Evening. Most people are out and about on Saturdays, I have very, very few sales on Mondays. Start picking up a bit on Tuesday....Sometimes I get a bit of increased sales on Fridays. The time of the day really makes a difference too I think. I get so excited to list an original when I have finished one, but really, less people are cruzing eBay in the mornings. Most wait until they are home from work, settled in and start searching at night. Well, theres my two cents! :D Melody

Yep, I totally agree with Melody. Friday evening is a good day,too. All other days haven't been doing well for me either. ~ Mareen 🙂

I also pay attention to what time in the evening to post. I want it to be after most people in California are home from work but before the East coast starts going to bed. I haven't sold enough art to see a pattern, but in the past (for books and such) I also tend to Sunday, Tuesday and Thurs. I try to avoid Friday and Sat. But I must confess I have 2 art auctions ending tonight - they are 10-day listings from the Feb. 14 listing sale. Pat

Thought this might help some of you form your own opinions. This is the sell-through rate (sales per listing) for Feb. 07. The blue line is BIN sales. I haven't noticed too many ACEOs sold as BIN so you can ignore that. Also the green line which is the average that includes BIN. I'm surprised there really IS an increase on most Fridays. Does this mean that people who buy art have no social life? Pat

It could also mean that more is offered on friday which would say that ACEO artist have no social life LOL/

they are absolutely fabulous art collectors who know better than to waste $ at a pub or club 🙂 we all love them, ahhh the internet, who needs to go out 😉

Why should we go out on Friday when we can stay home and make art? LOL! Although you could argue that people buy more when more is available (more choices), that chart really doesn't depend on # of listings. It is the percentage of total number of sales that day divided by the number of listings that end that day. I don't have access to just art listings, but as an example, on Tues. the 20th when % of sales decreased, there were on average 14,800,000 total listings on eBay. On Thursday when the % of sales went up, there was an average of only 12,750,000 listings on eBay. Hmmm. Wish we had numbers for just ACEOs or even just "Self Representing Artists". What we need is someone who isn't creating art or listing sales and has lots of spare time to count the ACEO listings and sales for several weeks. Any volunteers? Pat

Sound like a job.... I decline! So if I am getting it right Fridays are the best followed by Sundays and Tuesdays??? Of course if these fall after a payday all the better I guess.

that's the thing i haven't been doing lately..since i got addicted to painting aceo's, i get so excited i've been listing as soon as i can scan it! Hummmmm I am going back to my listings ending of the peak days/nights. so glad you posted the question maskukat annamarie

Good posts all and I agree with the evenings between 8:30 and 9:30pm eastern time(folks on the west coast have gotten home from work and people on the east coast have eaten supper but haven't gone to bed) 🙂 I usually do my major listing on Sunday and Thursday evenings. Other listings I do other times becasue I'm too excited about a newly painted ACEO that I can't wait to post it! I'm with a number of you - when I've finished something, I can't wait to list it - otherwise it just sits there staring at me saying "list me, list me, list me!!" And I, too would be perfectly happy spending a Friday evening painting or drawing. Art is my life!!! And I'm just fine with that, thank you very much :) -Ann

Ann, I'm one of those who want to list work as soon as it's done. Luckily they bought in scheduling so I list it, but schedule it. It nearly kills me to wait, but at least I've done the work behind getting it listed.
