Round Robin 2010 Sign up and Group List!

1. Everyone interested can commit to be a part of this project from now until August Feb. 1st. A list will then be posted in this thread, dividing everyone who signed up into groups of approximately 5 artists. People may sign up only once. 2. Each person on the list will begin a painting or drawing on a 5"x7" piece of flat paper. We recommend Bristol Vellum. It is sturdy, and will hold up through the handling / mailing. Each participating artist will provide the substrate. If you don't have Bristol Vellum, use a sturdy paper of your choosing. 3. That beginning artwork will be scanned and posted in a spoiler thread on this forum, then sent to the first person below them on the sign up list, within one week. The recipient will continue the piece and send it to the person below them within one week. This will continue until the 5th person completes the art. 4. In this way, each artist who signs up is committing to a) Start a work on an 5"x7" piece of drawing paper, sign the back, post a scan of it in a spoiler thread on our ACEO forum, and mail it to the second artist b) Continue as the second artist on a piece sent to them, sign the back, post a scan of it in a spoiler thread on our ACEO forum, and mail it to the third artist c) Continue as the third artist on a piece sent to them, sign the back, post a scan of it in a spoiler thread on our ACEO forum, and mail it to the fourth artist d) Continue as the fourth artist on a piece sent to them, sign the back, post a scan of it in a spoiler thread on our ACEO forum, and mail it to the fifth artist e) Complete a piece sent to them, sign the back, post a scan of it in a spoiler thread on our ACEO forum, and mail it back to the artist who started it originally. f) In our group photo album, post a photo of the completed artwork they started (when it is sent back to them.) We can help if you need instruction on how to do this. 5. The artist who originates and then gets back a completed piece of artwork may keep it, sell it, reproduce it, or do as they see fit with it. That artist will own the copyrights to the art and its images. The other participating artists will not have copyrights to the finished work, or the work in progress. Disclaimers: - By participating, you are agreeing that you will allow other artists to alter your work in the completion of the project. In some cases, your work may even be painted over. - Be mindful of the media used. Oil paints and pastels are not good choices for such a short timeframe, the multiple shippings, and the fact that oils are difficult to paint over. ........................................................ Now, to sign up, please do the following: A - List your country (this will make it easier to assemble groups who don't have lots of downtime for snail mail, and I'll try to spread it out so we don't have one person spending a fortune on postage, if I can) B - Be sure to check back here on Feb 2nd. At that time, the groups will be listed, and I'll post instructions for the spoiler thread, and mailing your artwork. Bev, for some reason my husband wanted to see that, so I rented the DVD. Like you said, it put us both to sleep. -- Susan http://stores.ebay.com/Beaks-And-Beacons

Re: Round Robin 2010 Sign up and Group List!

yeah, I like action, mystery, suspense, twist stuff and an occassional chick flick. It looked like it might be good -- but I slept so much I never did figure out why he was goofed up -- and after awhile I didn't care! Another one that looked good but was a real sleeper was "The Time Traveler's Wife". Slow - ain't the word for it!

Re: Round Robin 2010 Sign up and Group List!

PS I saw it on the plane. So my husband saw the previews and said "that looks good" My response was "its a chick flick and I didn't even like it." End of discussion. He hates the chick flicks - even the ones I like. So he wasn't even about to go there.

Re: Round Robin 2010 Sign up and Group List!

My favorite Chick Flick movie is Steel Magnolias it's funny, sweet and sad and funny again. Loved every actress in it too. I'm gonna try to figure out how to put my entry up on the spoiler thread now, I decided against painting in the brushes and erased off the top layer of colored pencil so that it would be easier if someone else were to paint in the bkg behind them.... To the spoiler thread, wish me luck. I may need to email it to you Deb and just let you do it. Debrah

Re: Round Robin 2010 Sign up and Group List!

Since I brought up Brad Pitt -- I can't imagine that they are going to try to replace Angelina in Laura Croft. Just like the last Mummy movie when they replaced Rachel Weisz with that other girl - almost ruined the whole movie. (See I was so unimpressed I don't even know who she was)

Re: Round Robin 2010 Sign up and Group List!

Bev -- I read The Time Travelers Wife and loved it, so I completely avoided the movie. Besides, something in the trailer didn't ring true to the book to me, which was a real turnoff. I'm beginning to wonder -- is it because of my age that many movies put me to sleep? Becca -- I though that Liam's ex-wife in the movie had the best of everything -- a rich husband and an ex-husband who could kill anybody who needed killing. Perfect world. -- Susan http://stores.ebay.com/Beaks-And-Beacons

That was my fault! She's not crazy... well I don't know her that well, but she doesn't seem crazy... ANYWAY, someone brought up chick flicks, so I said Steel Magnolias was my favorite. Taken was very good btw. = ) Debrah

Ladies -- we have to decide where we're going to chat -- here or on the spoiler thread. I'm getting dizzy going back and forth. -- Susan http://stores.ebay.com/Beaks-And-Beacons

Re: Round Robin 2010 Sign up and Group List!

Since we're nuts while round robining -- let's do it on the spoiler because that is the current thing going on. You know we always have something to say about the postings -- and other things that pop into our minds. Let's close this thread out and move to the spoiler. anything goes?
