Big question on ACEO Pricing...

Hi! I have came a long way since starting selling ACEOs on eBay...I remember selling my 1st one for .99 cents! Then I moved my starting price to $3.99 and then $4.99 and finally to $5.99. I am trying to figure out if I should leave my auctions at that for a starting price or what to start my work out on...As it is I ship for free and my winning totals minus ebay and paypal fees plus shipping fees leave me a little...I was wondering if that would be a good or bad thing and could someone please explaing their views on ebay stores..I am considering one... Thanks!

I make the coa so it can fit in the back of the protective sleeve on aceo's, Others are art size appropriate.:-)

Re: Big question on ACEO Pricing...

Hi, Everyone! I had been selling consistantly (again, after a couple years hiatus, caring for my Mom) since February ~ my starting price was 4.99 and I sold everything...I raised my price to 9.99 when my painting time became more scarce this summer...only one of those didn't sell, but I just suddenly got "burned out" from all the 4.99s, I think. I know I should be grateful to have any sales at all, but I really felt resentful about some of those 4.99s, knowing all the work that went into them and then all the fees on top...you all know that feeling! So, I took the plunge and listed the one that didn't sell a month or so ago for 9.99, at 19.99...am I being silly? Is that going to scare people off? (If it doesn't sell, I kinda like it myself! LOL) Thanks for your input! Anne

Well, I got "cold feet" and went back and changed my starting price to 9.99 with a 24.99 BIN ~ Is that more reasonable?

Re: Big question on ACEO Pricing...

Keep us posted Anne, with the success of that listing. I'm always trying to figure out the market. I am virtually clueless for the "what to do". My big rule is to not under sell myself!! I figure, if I stick to that one--I'll always be happy when I make a sale! -- JDanni

Re: Big question on ACEO Pricing...

Danni, I think I'm going to end that listing and just keep it,since it was one I had earlier listed for 9.99 ~ that's what I'm starting any new ones I list at, though ~ I just can't do 4.99 anymore without getting "burned out" ~ that's kinda what happened to me this summer...:o)

I completely understand. There is nothing that makes you feel worse than letting your art go for a price that feel wrong! Good call! -- JDanni

Re: Big question on ACEO Pricing...

Is anybody considering fixed-price listings when eBay's new fee structure takes effect this fall? Sue

Re: Big question on ACEO Pricing...

Sue, I have a store with larger inventory counts on some particular items. I usually have an auction or two listed to drive business to the store; now, I can at least try to list the fixed price for that same promotional aspect. I think now-a-days, it's all about being found in a search! I'll try anything that might help with that! -- JDanni
