The second deck will be amazing. Last year we had 55 different artists and sold over 1350 decks. Here is a sample of the card.

So how is it done?
Rules and Sign up
Time Frame
This year we will have a special sign up for Australia due to the time difference, Proof will be the location stated on the eBay users profile (Feedback).
February 7th, 2009 (Saturday)
Special Australia Sign up, Max 10 artists, Open 12 Noon Saturday February 7th, 2009 eBay time

February 8th , 2009 (Sunday)
Sign up opens 12 noon eBay time February 8th, 2009.
This sign up is reserved for members who did not participate in the 2008 ACEO Playing Card Deck.
February 8th, 2009 Midnight
If all spots are not filled by 12 midnight February 8th, any member who participated in the first edition is welcome to participate in this 2009 edition on a first come, first served basis.
March 1st, 2009 (Sunday)
Cards due back to Rick by Sunday March 1st, 2009
April 1st, 2009 (approx)
All card proofs returned to individuals for approval before printing
Late June early July (approx)
Cards delivered to everyone who pre purchased them.
Description of the Playing Card Deck
This will be a 2 deck(Double Deck) Playing card size is 2.5 X 3.5 Poker deck size with a white background.
Rules
1. Sign up is necessary as the card deck is limited to 104 artists on a first come, first served basis.
2. You must sign up for a card in the SIGN UP Thread (see above for opening times). First come first served. 24 available Facecards (Jack, Queen, King) and 80 numbered cards (Ace – 10).
2a. An additional 6 Wild Cards “Jokers & Description Cards” are reserved for the use deemed appropriate by the AAEC Committee.
3. 1 card limit per artist.
3a. Previous participating members in the 2008 deck cannot sign up until after 12 midnight ebay time February 8th, 2009.
4. Original art only. Please do not create a copyright infringement in the creation of your card.
5. Theme
This is an open theme, your art does not have to depict any specific card, The only request is:
a. If you are providing regular ACEO art we request you sign up for a card from Ace -10 (Number Card).
b Face card, it is preferred if your art depicts the particular card. (Facecard)
6. Please provide ACEO size 2.5” X 3.5” artwork.
a. Please DO NOT add Card number. The playing card company will insert the Pip (Number and symbol) and your eBay user name before completion of the card deck.
b. Your Final image “ACEO” on the Playing Card will be reduced in size from the submitted 2.5” X 3.5” to approx 2” X 3”, this will allow room for your eBay user name and selected card number on the final card.
7. Deadline for all submitted art is March 1st, 2009

8. Please provide a 300 DPI high resolution scan to: ACEOPLAYINGCARD@coloredpencil.ca
PDF, Tiff, Illustrator or JPG image.

9. A final proof will be emailed to the artist for final approval.
10. To purchase decks of these wonderful playing cards, I will create a thread “How many decks you want?” thread on ACEO ~ Art Cards, Editions and Originals. Price and shipping costs will be posted on that thread once available. Decks will be by pre-purchase only.

12. As a courtesy to our Australian members and due to the time difference from the eBay time in the United States we will have an Australian limited early sign up to take place on Saturday 12 noon February 7th, 2009 eBay time.
12a. Australian early sign up is limited to a maximum of 10 members/cards. Australians who do not sign up on Saturday February 7th, 2009 are still eligible to sign up during the regular sign up on Sunday, February 8th, 2009 eBay time.
12b. Australian eligibility will be confirmed with the eBay member’s stated location in their profile (feedback) on eBay.com.
13. Autographed Deck. To all participating members of the 2009 ACEO~ Playing Card Deck. As a collector special limited edition we will be sending along with your playing card order a set of your 2009 ACEO~Playing Cards to be autographed(Ex. 10 of Hearts) and RETURNED TO THE AAEC. These special autographed sets will then be auctioned on eBay and the funds raised from this autographed set will be used to fund future contests and promotion of ACEOs as deemed appropriate by the AAEC.

Please understand these ACEO Playing Cards are going to be enjoyed by people of all ages. Any art deemed inappropriate for all viewers will be eliminated from the ACEO Playing Card Decks. Artists will be notified and given the opportunity to provide a second card.
The artist will retain the copyright on their art and only gives ACEO ~ Art Cards, Editions and Originals Art Group permission to use the art for creating the ACEO Playing Cards and advertising of the ACEO Playing Card Decks. All credit of artwork will be attributed to the specific artist eBay name.
