Warning of using fedex shipping label and invoice fees!

I recently sold a saxophone on ebay and used the fedex shipping label on ebay to ship the item.  As I just started selling, my funds weren't available instantly so I clicked the option to be charged when my funds were available for the shipping label.  When my funds became available, I never got charged on paypal for the shipping label, but just today I checked my invoice fees and it had jumped from around $90 to $134.  I thought there must of been something wrong so I checked my invoice fees and saw that I was being charged $44 for my fedex shipping label.  In the details of the fee, it said my label was 51lbs and had a bunch of other charges, but my label was only 18lbs and the shipping label cost only around $24, probably less.  I called ebay and they told me it was a mistake on their part and credited me back money so the charge of the shipping label was back to $24.  But as I said the label was probably less so I should of gotten back more money. Ebay would have charged me the extra money if I never saw the mistake, so I wanted to warn my fellow sellers out there.  They ebay specialist told me that fedex shipping labels sometimes have problems because they are still working on it.  So when you use Fedex, make sure you check how much you get charged.

And same thing here! I dont believe that i have ever been charged the quoted price for fedex/ Evilbay is well aware and still
does nothing about it unless you call them on it! too much time unless a big difference. We sold an aluminum intake manifold
from a jeep cherokee that weighed 12 lbs. listed dimensions, and total ship weight of 12.8lbs. when fedex got ahold of it it
jumped to 50 something lbs and the dimensions became smaller considerably. Greedybay made us jump thru the fiery hoops and prove the claim.
I had to contact dodge and get a screenshot from a lookup that said the part was only 12lbs ship weight. original quote was for $16 bucks to
address, they lowered the fee down to $18 and change. So, beware using fedex thru ebay! we only do so on bigger, higher dollar pkgs! Ebay
doesnt care, and has zero seller protections in there initially. Mostly, we try and sell only stuff that fits into usps flatrate boxes or
envelopes, but we have had exceptions. it would be nice to get evilbay to put in protections for us, but it seems that the only changes
they make is to take more seller rights and money! DO less and demand more $$$ for it!

I was sent a invoice from ebay  for 790$ after printing  fedex label for  shipping a 15 lb bicycle. Initial cost was 117$ for overnight shipping.   The invoice stated the bike weighed 176 lbs.   ebay is prob well aware of all the overcharges.  I wouldnt have noticed it if hadnt been such a large amount of money. No telling how much money they have stolen from sellers by all these add on charges.

2 times now for me, charged more than double the estimate the 1st time , almost 3x this go around. FedEx won't talk to me without an account number and eBay keeps hanging up on me after putting me on hold while they check into this, REALLY?

Fedex bill always gets added at the end of each month. Its not like USPS where it's instant or same week.

They posted five years ago; they last visited the forums in 2013. So I wouldn't wait for an answer.

Have been selling on eBay since 2002, over 1,000 packages sent.  Most of my FedEx SmartPost charges have been close to estimate over the last year, but in my April invoice, I have 5 packages out of 6 that were charged nearly 30% higher than the estimate.  This is definitely not a dimensional weight thing, since all of my packages are smaller than 6x6x6.  I take great pride in ensuring accurate weights and dimensions for all of my shipments.  I feel ripped off and will no longer be shipping FedEx through eBay.  I don't have the time or patience to deal with trying to get a refund.

Thanks for your comments. I shipped a 19 pound item via Fed Ex cuz I checked the shipping price through the post office and it would have come to 35.00 and I had only had a 30.00 shipping charge listed on my sale. So to "save" a little money, I used Fed Ex and the estimated shipping was about 27.00. So I thought I was being "smart" UNTIL i saw the shipping cost and those crooks at Fed Ex charged me $45.00.. WTH. I didn't understand all the extra charge until I read your note about "fuel charges". I WILL NEVER ship Fed Ex again. CROOKS

You don't get billed until FedEx delivers the package and sends their bill to eBay.  eBay then adds it to your monthly invoice.  Be sure to check your eBay invoices for accuracy and keep track of the pending FedEx  charges to make sure you're covered in PayPal when the shipping fees finally get charged.

took the package to the fedex store myself and even had them weight and measure it to make sure it was correct and the label and price were good. then ebay invoice adds $60 total comes out to 87 for $95 worth of items sold for month i did not pay on the dead line because i called and the idiot i talked to on ebay acted like i was just trying to get out of paying my fees and rudely transferred to the people to take payment.  I end up going to hospital for 20 days and i finally get time to call ebay again and they add 15 charge for not paying on time but they sneakily put it under subscriptions and dont put anything else about what it is for. so now total bill is $102

this is a **bleep** JOKE.  ebay community is more like ebays victims of **bleep** and theft.

It is always best to contact Ebay when there is a problem by phone because the service seems completely different than the online computer app handling.

I just had that happen to me TODAY. The label was for 2 11 lb packages on different dates. same exact item, in fact. I was charged for 2 16 lb packages. One was $15.40 more and the other was $15.33 more. I am calling them RIGHT NOW. I do not have that extra to fork out for THEIR error!!
