What this does is push buyers to the big sellers stores to work deals out side of ebay.
Who are they hurting with the fee increase?????

If you think the fees are too high , quit selling on ebay . It really is that simple. If you want to continue selling on ebay you will have to pay their fees.

I agree with leo. The fees are not hidden under a rock in the Amazon.
We all know what they are. Each potential seller has a simple choice...
List and pay the fees, or go somewhere else. Pretty simple actually.

Absolutely TOO HIGH, i had no idea ebay was almost 10%! I'm looking for an alternate, total BS
04-06-2013 05:35 PM
Seriously people, without a store, its 10%, plus .30 + 2.9% for pay pal - call it 15% - good luck finding any marketplace with similar traffic that will allow you sell for less . . .
There are a few, and I sell there too, but 15% ain't bad for the exposure you get here . . .

I recently sold a watch and it went for market value 2700
I was unrealistically thinking fees would be .? 3 to 4 %
No, I didn't check. I ve sold a few items on eBay and usually it seems reasonable however
with this transaction and PayPal costs now I'm at 12% +
or $330 cost to selling my $2700 dollar watch ?
i realize I should have checked the fees but it seems high

THE AUCTION HOUSE
The average auction house collects a commission of 30%,
Dunno about you, 12% less than half the average at an auction house seems better, no?

Plus the buyer's premium, which around tacks on another 10% to selling price (which savvy buyers figure in to their bid . . .)

*around here tacks on

I agree ebay and pay pal are out of control with there fees, I put a post up today about how they ripped me off this morning for 13% final value and pay pal fees and put a pole from 1-5 grading pole for the fees, its been deleted scene then.
05-02-2013 12:55 PM
Lost money on the sale - and who's fault would that be? Did eBay tell you how much to charge for the widget? And, by the way, the language that you use in your post is way out of line and will get you little sympathy or support - just sayin'.

I just got charged about $26 in fees for a $365.00 transaction. That's worse than international fees at an atm. It's robbery.
05-20-2013 05:50 AM
Well, you could always try selling your items,
by leaving ads, on post-it notes, on ATM machines.

Yeah, that might be a good idea. Sounds reasonable to me! 😉
