As you know, fees vary across categories as eBay always strives to achieve lowest total fees across category competitors. Starting on March 1, 2022, final value fees for Store sellers and those without a store will increase slightly. You can learn more about that here, or review the fee comparison chart here. Feel free to ask any questions below!
Please note that eBay experts will be present and engaging on the boards between 8 am and 4:00 pm PST on 2.9.

Hey mam98031
Just want to thank you for providing some answers and commentary. Employed eBay staff seems to be on a prolonged coffee break but at least you as a Community Mentor are here trying.
Thank you!

If you keep raising fees on both sellers and buyers (who will suffer from higher costs) you'll find fewer people on your site than those that remained on the Mary Celeste...

Shipping supply costs going up and up yet coupon stays the same plus I’m having to pay tax now on the supplies. I must disagree with you, the coupon is pretty much crap.
i can’t get away with buying a pack of tissue paper without being charged more than my coupon “discount”

Someone at Ebay did not learn from the Last administration. Look at the fees as a tax. The Laugher curve shows us if you raise taxes you slow your economy. Lower taxes and tax revenue goes up as volume goes up. The most basic of economics and you still do not get it.

Not happy. I thought we were to save money not lose more. Sales are down, ebay's stock is down, so you raise our fees to keep us selling ? I feel like at every turn I'm getting picked clean on. I have to list twice as much to make the same amount I made three years ago. Then what the CEO said about low value sellers ? So we are worth nothing unless we sell large items ? After managed payment change I had hope things were changing to support sellers, saving us in fees, attracting more sellers. I've been seeing fellow long term sellers leaving, cross posting and preparing to leave. Where are you going Ebay ? Who is going to support your business ?

1. Aren't sellers usually given 30 days' notice before new final value fee rates (and other price increases) go into effect? Somewhere I got the impression that there was a requirement or commitment to allow one full billing period before changes. Why March 1, which is just 20 days from now, rather than giving 30 days' notice?
I thought so, too! But when I checked the UA early this morning it said 14 days notice for fee changes.
30 days notice is required for changes to the UA.
The UA was updated today but no thread was created on this board for us to ask questions- when I asked on the CPF board if they could create one- Sheila said there was no change. It was disappointing to see the community team unaware of it.
Edit to add UA text-
We may change our selling fees from time to time by posting the changes on the eBay site fourteen (14) days in advance, but with no advance notice required for temporary promotions or any changes that result in the reduction of fees.
@coffeebean832 the UA has been 14 days for at least ten years now.

OK- I didn't say the 14 day portion changed today. I said the UA in general was updated today- and it was- so I'm not sure what the 10 years comment was for? Nothing I posted was incorrect.

Fees, fees and more fees, after 22 years selling on Ebay I got to the point that is time for me to say goodbye and start looking for other options to sell my goods .

January 2021 Postage was $2.78 for 3 ounces, with different zones higher.
February 2022 Postage was $3.42
eBay has gotten two Cost Of Living increases totaling 23% because postage has increased. Figure in even more increase because of fees on sales tax for shipping. Please, someone kindly do even more math for us to better understand this. Compare this against the 12.35% or 12.55% percent.
eBay could have responded Three ways:
a) Shared that 23% windfall with sellers by reducing fees.
b) Sent a heartfelt message showing empathy for the rising costs sellers have to deal with, either absorb or else pass along.
c) Increase fees. Not popular reading through the 100 comments preceding mine.

Good post ... the issue is supply chain for paper raw material as well as other raw materials ... I know, I spoke to someone in the corrugated industry recently ... the problem is all over, not just with eBay supplies. But someone posted earlier on this thread that while costs of goods go up the coupon value doesn't so when used now it defrays fewer costs then it once did ... THAT too is a very good point.

Well all of the followers that said prices would be the same after forcing us to use ebays payment system instead of paypal. We buckle up because this is just the start. Wait till the spring summer and fall updates that I guarantee will all have a steady raise in final value fees. Bravo followers. You will never learn.

USPS understood that a LONG time ago, and that's why they provide us with FREE shipping supplies when needed.
