As you know, fees vary across categories as eBay always strives to achieve lowest total fees across category competitors. Starting on March 1, 2022, final value fees for Store sellers and those without a store will increase slightly. You can learn more about that here, or review the fee comparison chart here. Feel free to ask any questions below!

@nobody*s_perfect wrote:1. Aren't sellers usually given 30 days' notice before new final value fee rates (and other price increases) go into effect? Somewhere I got the impression that there was a requirement or commitment to allow one full billing period before changes. Why March 1, which is just 20 days from now, rather than giving 30 days' notice?
I thought so, too! But when I checked the UA early this morning it said 14 days notice for fee changes.
30 days notice is required for changes to the UA.
The UA was updated today but no thread was created on this board for us to ask questions- when I asked on the CPF board if they could create one- Sheila said there was no change. It was disappointing to see the community team unaware of it.
Edit to add UA text-
We may change our selling fees from time to time by posting the changes on the eBay site fourteen (14) days in advance, but with no advance notice required for temporary promotions or any changes that result in the reduction of fees.

What exactly is EBay doing for sellers that merits the increase of fees? Most sellers are kind of hobby sellers and I know my issues hasn’t been finding buyers, but with nonpaying buyers. But as it is, nothing happens to nonpaying buyers and you have to wait almost a week to relist. Plus, you can’t leave negative feedback and if you try to report them, there’s no option to do so. In the end, eBay is going to force hobby sellers to move to other selling sites like Poshmark that auto charges buyers and has a better structure for handling refunds- once the delivery is noted it’s three days and money is released to the seller unless a return is opened within that time which stops buyers from using the item for a month and returning it. eBay “no returns accepted” is a joke since anyone can open a SNAD claim and force a return. eBay needs to fix the issues it has before it can justify raising fees.

I have been with Ebay since 2000 but do not buy and sell like a lot of folks on here. When I do sell, the fees and now taxes really take a big bite out of the total. Add to that the shipping they count in the final price. So Ebay, I will say good-bye to selling on your site as of March 1, 2022. You really could have much lower fees and still make a nice sum of $$$$ for yourself and probably have a heck of a lot more people use your site. You got to big for your britches.

I'm so done with eBay, and this is the final straw to convince me to sell my items elsewhere. Your fees take a massive cut out of any potential profits, and for what benefit? Payments take multiple days to hit my bank account (even though you claimed removing PayPal for payments was going to lower fees and speed up payment processing time), you automatically side with buyers and automatically approve any-and-all return requests which allows shady/sleazy buyers to abuse sellers, and you offer nothing in benefits to good sellers that consistently ship quickly and receive good feedback. And for crying out loud, bring back the 14 day return policy! Many of us aren't big box retailers or businesses, and we're tired of buyers abusing the return policy as if we're Amazon.
Getting this message that our fees are being raised feels like a slap across the face, and you think we'll be fine with it. eBay has become a greedy, good-for-nothing platform, and its time I start listing more of my items on Mercari, FB Marketplace, Reddit, etc. Your claims that you're "on our side" as sellers is pure **bleep**. I'm taking my listings down today, screw you eBay.

This is just one of the problems with this board getting staff responses for only 1 day. Every update it takes a while for them to post replies- and when they do there are often follow up questions- and by the end of the day it usually feels like we're left with more questions than answers.
Having said that- it's only 10:30am at eBay HQ so it's still pretty early.

Lowest are you kidding? No one is charging on sales tax and shipping like eBay, the highest of all places. Most place charge less on items 10.00 or less, not ebayits the full price. This is getting out of hand, sales tax is a burden on sellers. We do not collect it or get the discount that the state pays ebay, we get a fee !
11.9 percent charged on shipping and taxes. Sellers have no way of knowing the cost since taxes are different in every state! No wonder so many have left, you can't offer great deals when you have to pay so much!
It's not 11.9 it's more like 20 after shipping and sales tax commission fees, than pay your shipping and its up to 40 percent. No where has this been better than paypal

Maybe our customers should send us a shipping label so they are not charged tax on shipping and we don't pay fees on shipping.

I'm an occasional seller but you people are delusional if you feel this contributes to making eBay a world-class marketplace. If I was running a business here, I'd be looking seriously at finding another site where you are not exploited. I sell here for convenience, not because of some fantasy that eBay is world-class.

Why does eBay keep trying to be profitable? They should operate at a break even point so that sellers can make more money.

TERRIBLE JUST TERRIBLE
The new management lost their shirt on the big watch program, the sneaker fiasco, the trading card mess, and the BUNGLED managed payment roll-out. Time for a change, or this platform is doomed. The fee increases in just a year have been to big coupled with managed payments unsustainable. ONE TWO MORE QUARTERS MAX FOR ME, I CAN DO BETTER SELLING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK LIKE WHEN I WAS A KID.. The real question is when is a COMPETITOR coming on line, got to be some former eBay people out there with the skillset. The way the sentiment is now wouldn't have any trouble getting sellers.. Big mistake Ebay big mistake..

Hmmm, I wonder why so many are soooooo surprise?

We don't turn a blind eye. We simply don't have a good alternative (yet). But Facebook is entering the game now with MUCH lower fees. So, will see how that goes...

The irony... 😡🤡
"as eBay always strives to achieve lowest total fees"..."Starting on March 1, 2022, final value fees for Store sellers and those without a store will increase".

1. Can you please confirm that TRS Sellers using the 30 Day Free Returns setting will still receive the TRS Plus 10% FVF discount on their transactions?
2. Was there an increase on International Selling Fees too? If so I missed what they were on the charts in the links provided. __________% ???
Regards,
Mr. L
