Tiny Orders, no Tracking

So tiny order which I get a good eight to ten percent of my orders sometimes; they have no tracking only a postage stamp so does this mean I will not be able to ever be top rated. Bronze not silver is good enough for me but hopefully this will not change from my current status or I will have to get rid of tiny orders and make less money.

Stone none of your orders have uploaded tracking, you would not be able to be top rated.

Hi serendepity55;

In order to qualify for Top Rated seller status, a seller must upload valid tracking on 95% of their orders.  Your Bronze PowerSeller level status won't be impacted by this change.  Thanks for selling on ebay.

Yes, a few years back when eBay first required 90% tracking to be a Top Rated Seller, many sellers of itmes like stamps, trading cards, and postcards lost their TRS status as the USPS does not have tracking on First Class Letters (now $.49).  I even opened a 2nd store, one with only shipping via First Class Package with tracking (now $2.61) so I could retain my TRS status and the other with free shipping, no tracking using First Class Letters.  My buyers did not seem to want tracking, as that store barely broke even.  I'm back to just one store with free shipping using First Class Letters with no ability to become a TRS.

If the USPS offered tracking with First Class Letters, that would be a good thing.  eBay should try to convince the USPS to provide this service.  eBay (John Donahue), the USPS, and China were able to reach such a deal with the ePackets, a bulk service with 2.2 kilo maximum per bundle or 80 1-ounce ePackets per bundle, each ePacket with individual tracking and a cost of $.05 per ePacket.  This makes for a very uneven playing field:  $2.61 and no TRS possible vs. $.05 and TRS possible.

two questions regarding this please.

1. if you ship with no tracking dont the sxcammers and fraudsters come out and say oh i "didnt recieve" my package, then you have to refund the buyer because there is no way to "prove" the item was delivered? and part 2 if a buyer files a Item not received claim againsta  seller dosnt it count as a defect which means a bunch of scammers can open a bunch of claims then your sellign priveleges will be suspended do to too many "buyer didnt receive their item cliams?

2. most people uplaod tracking and use a 30 day return and 1 day shipping only to get top rated status and 20 % discount, now that the requirements changed, is there ANY benefit to use/upload tracking on items, ship items 1 business day and offer 30 day returns? all for what 10% discount?

I firmly believe most people are honest.  And when a business strategy is high volume, LOW cost items this seems to be particularly true.  It's really not worth the problem to to try to scam a $1.00 or $2.00 item.  When cost go above $10.00 I do ship with tracking...
