I'm going back to 3 day handling and paid shipping
I'm also raising my prices

Here's a link for you Keith. If none of the mentioned discussing the topic work for you - there are many, many more out there from all types of business sites that discuss the sanctions and why it was done. Not one site, not 2 or 10 but many. The programming sites will tell you how it was done, show you charts and graphs.
If it's a myth - it must also be a mass conspiracy. You can also look at the weekly chat about 3 weeks ago when I discussed the topic with Alan:)

Please clarify what tools and options you are referring to that will help me grow my business. The only "tool" I noticed concerned setting shipping rates, but I use the calculator with no problems, so this is useless for me.
How does tightening the TRS guidelines while lowering the discount help my business?
@fern*wood , Check the 2017 Spring Seller Update in Seller Center/Seller News for all the most recent updates. Below are a few quick references:
Seller Update Overview Pages:
http://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2017spring/index.html
1. Take advantage of promoted listings as we remove third party advertisements and a $30 credit to use towards promotions available to Top Rated Sellers. We will have some upcoming specials on Promotions Manager. Details: http://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2017spring/listings-visibility.html
2. Making it easier for you to remain competitive in the shipping and returns experience you offer to customers with new shipping tools. This includes new shipping rate tables and work days/cut off time options. Details: http://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2017spring/shipping-tools.html
Review Bob's post about the vision that includes our commitment to rewarding sellers delivering the best shipping/returns experience to buyers. "Our goal is to make shipping and returns easier for you to manage. We plan to roll out new tools that enable you to provide more accurate—and competitive—delivery time estimates.": http://community.ebay.com/t5/eBay-for-Business/Our-2017-Game-Plan-for-Seller-Success/ba-p/26582650
Raquel you forgot to mention the FACT you are cutting the TRS+ listing discounts in half, even though you have previously tightened the noose/metrics on shipping to make it harder to remain TRS+,and have even further tightened them in this update going from 90 % to 95%...
That is going to a landfall of REVENUE for ebays coffers,by taking it out of the pocket of your best customer service sellers...

I am highly disappointed that this Seller Update will reduce the TRS discount on fees from 20 percent to 10 percent. Why doesn't Ebay just come right out and say they would like their best sellers that provide the best service to go away? Penalizing the best sellers makes no sense to me at all.
Personally I am going to reduce my return period from 30 days to 14 days or even 7 days on many items. Many things just don't need a 30 day return window. Also setting my handling time for 2 days to ship instead of 1, makes a lot of sense for me as I *ahem* get a little older and more tired every year. I like having flexibility in planning my trips to the post office. Rushing around just doesn't make sense for a measly ten percent discount on fees. I haven't noticed Ebay "rushing around" to get all sellers back into Google search results, or "rushing" to bring me great buyers who are interested in and can afford to buy something better than the cheapest of cheapy cheap bargain bin junque. I end up selling cheap stuff just to survive here not because I don't have better stuff to sell.
On a different topic, I am happy to see that most third party ads that take the buyer offsite to buy something related to my item on Ebay, will finally be eliminated. They were cutting our throat. We sellers attract the buyer for Ebay with our item, good photos, and great ad, only to watch the buyer disappear to chase an item another site thanks to a 3rd party ad piggybacked on our listing. It's high time that was ended. Also glad to see I will be able to finally set up a reasonable shipping cost matrix. BUT .... seeing Ebay try to squeeze their best sellers by cutting their discount in half is truly sad. Maybe it's time to semiretire or finally search out other sites for my better stuff.

Funny, just a few minutes ago I was wondering if it would be cancelled or severely limited in scope. Guess that answers it. Thanks for posting it.

Here's the bottom line: If your a GREAT ebay seller you will have to pay more!
If your a BAD ebay seller you will have to pay more!
eBay is making record profits and they seem to think that raising fees is the way to go and at the same time penalizing it's best sellers.
Those 3rd party ads didn't hurt my business 1 ioda as I sell used items compared to new ones.
It's all about GREED and they expect us all to pay for it.
I'M NOT A HAPPY EBAY SELLER RIGHT NOW

Look I get ebay is a for PROFIT company, and they can do what they want as far as FEES,and policies, you either live with them or LEAVE... I am NOT happy about it, but it is what it is...
BUT what really GALLS me to the CORE, is ebay TRYING to pass these Spring and Fall Updates with their ever tightening metrics, and fee increases, as if they are doing it to HELP sellers, and are listening to sellers concerns and problems, when all it amounts to is a REVENUE grab by ebay!
Treat me as the customer I am od ebay, and that I have at least half a brain ,and don't try and SPIN your REVENUE grab as you doing me a FAVOUR!
