I'M CONVINCED THAT THE PEOPLE WHO COME UP WITH THESE NEW CHANGES ARE NOT TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING SELLING ON E-BAY.JUST REMENBER... PROVEN FACT.. THE BIGGER YOU GET THE MORE HAEDACHES, THEN .........BOOM .. SOMETHING ELSE COMES ALONG AND PEOPLE MOVE TO THE NEXT THING. E-BAY HAS BECOME SO BIG THAT THE VERY PEOPLE THAT PUT THEM THERE ARE NO LONGER IMPORTANT, I WON'T GET INTO DETAILS..BUT I WILL SAY AND AM SURE OTHERS AGREE, THAT WHEN A PROBLEM COMES UP AND WE ASK E-BAY TO HELP US, THEY TELL US WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR, AND AFTER THE CONVERSATION ...THEY DO THE OPPOSITE. ALL I CAN SAY TO EVERYONE READING THIS IS. DO NOT PUT YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET., JUST KEEP ON POSTING YOUR THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS AND OVER TIME THIS WILL CREATE A PATTERN AND E-BAY WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO REVIEW AND CORRECT.

You assume (incorrectly) that this is a democracy or a commune.
It is not.
eBay is a publicly traded for-profit corporation.
It is beholden to its shareholders.
The only thing that they HAVE to do for their members is abide by the user agreement. Have you read it lately? Or did you just click "I agree" many moons ago without reading it or any of the updates since?
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/user-agreement.html
That is your contract with eBay. You signed it when you signed up and you agreed to each change when you continued to use the site after the dates that those changes were effective.

Of course not; they get paychecks from eBay, without selling anything.
You're right; the 'people that put them there" are indeed unimportant. As noted in another post, eBay is a publicly traded company so its primary responsibility is to make momney for shareholders.

I have been around a while and have never seen Ebay repeal an unpopular decision. When they took away sellers ability to leave negative feedback, this board was jammed with thousands of comments but that policy still remains, as do the stringent performance requirements. The almighty has spoken, we either suck it up, adapt or move on.
I have been considering moving from premium to basic store for some time and will make that call this evening, not going to give any more of my money than i have to. Wish i had a location where yard sales were possible, that's what i would do.

That's not quite true ... The performance standards that were rolled out in 2015 got rescinded (neutral=neg / Opened cases=defect)
But it probably had to do more with the golden children being affected (along with more work for the scrubbing teams), rather than the small and medium sellers ...

I stand corrected penquin--after a moments thought, i do remember that change. We all find a way to adapt, or not. Selling has been tough for quite a while on here, less buyers, more competition, shipping increases, this may be the end for many.

I think of it this way ...
eBay is a tool for my business.
They are not my partner, my friend or my boss.
My margins are healthy enough to handle a 0.15% increase, I never counted the TRSP into any of my profit calculations .. it was a bonus that got squirreled away into my Inventory and Supply Reserve Fund. A bit extra for the cause 😉
If eBay can supply traffic enough to grow my business, I will continue to use their tool (along with other tools ... eggs/basket)
If a tool stops being effective, I will find a new tool.
For example, I got a new tax accountant this year. I was unhappy with the previous accountant's performance.
