Multiple stores the answer to lower fees?

Am I missing something here? I pay $180/mo for my anchor store for up to 2500 items. As I run about 2,000 to 2,500 listings a month, it works well.

With the new fee structure, couldn't I have 3 premium stores @$60ea for $180/mo. and list up to 3,000 items? Or just keep my listings at 2,000 items/mo. and have 2 premium stores for $120/mo. saving myself $60/mo over current fees?

It makes no sense to me why they didn't add a level in between 1,000 and 10,000 items to store subscriptions. Does having mutliple stores seem like a possible answer to avoid higher fees...or am I missing something?

Having multiple stores will make it hard for buyers to combine shipping on orders if they are spread out over multiple ID's

That's already true under the current system, where Basic stores get 300 free insertions for $20 (or $16) per month but Premier stores get 600 for $60 (or $50) per month.

You also need multiple ID's and have limits high enough to support a store on each.

Depends if you want to take advantage of the top notch Customer service you would be paying for   getting for the Anchor store.
See seems to me ebay should have top notch CS for everyone that uses the site. As it is now we have to call CS with ebays policy links in hand to guide them to the correct information to help us.
With the Anchor you may have ebay empolyees CS reps the way it used to be before they outsourced to script readers that put you on hold all the time.

Only time will tell if they are more knowledgable than what we get now but Ebay has already stated that many of these dedicated CSR's will still be outsourced in various countries as they currently are.

Why would buyers expect combined shipping from different ID'S in  the first place?
