It is an unnecessary hardship for eBay to require 30 day return on collectibles

For collectibles, it is wrong to require 30 days return. Collectibles are not something the buyer decides whether to use immediately or not. There is no waiting period before they discover if the ink is good quality or the label sticks properly or the item works... a collectible is not a commodity or a usable product. It is something the buyer puts away for their own enjoyment. And they usually do that immediately.

The collector always knows within 14 days of receipt if they want the item or not. They usually know immediately. The only purpose 30 days will do, is if another seller sees the sale and contacts the buyer to purchase their identical item at a lower price.  I think this will be a bad requirement for collectibles, and maybe it's just another way eBay's won't need to give a discount to the seller.

This new 30 day return rule is unnecessary, and will cause unintended consequences for collectibles sellers. It's a bad requirement.

Fwiw, buyer ids are anonymous. How would another seller know your buyer's id?

More likely ebay would continue sending the buyer messages about other sellers having it cheaper.
