I rented a condo in SC and live in WV, the item says its being shipped
to me so of course Ebay collected WV Sales tax.. unless I get a condo in
the mail Im pretty sure WV shouldn't get sales tax.. Two years in a row
this has happened.. any opinions?
I was looking at a $4500 item and the seller is close to me so I asked
to inspect the item, he replied that its against Ebay policy to give me
his address? Is this true?
Last year I complained to Ebay and they agreed that the sales tax
shouldn't of been collected on a different condo.. they did refund it..
It has always been that a person could sell their personal belongings
and not be obligated to collect sales tax....
I just find it interesting that if I call a property managment company
or hotel out of state they sure dont send WV any tax... so sales tax
only applies to internet sales?
The Tax was 6% and called WV Sales Tax.. I looked on WV tax website and
it gives as example a person renting out their home in WV and they
should collect sales tax.. the seller isn't a hotel operator. The condo
week was their timeshare week.. but WV ...
Thanks, very well said. But I dont think buying a song is the same since
you do receive the song in WV? This never happened on Ebay before last
year... In the future I will buy off Ebay if I wanna save the $
