I always list with Buy it Now and if I have a little bit of wiggle room
or the environment is competitive I'll put in "or best offer". STUPIDLY

Some time ago I stopped listing much on eBay because I wasn't getting
views or sales. I didn't know anything about this promoted listing stuff
except I glanced once and they wanted some ridiculous amount, like 7%,
before I even posted the listing so ...
So the buyer didn't pay and insists they didn't bid. 3 days after
sending numerous invoices they perk up the minute I list them as a no
pay. Issue I'm p'd about is eBay posted my feedback about them as
POSITIVE! How in the world is a no pay positive?...
