I listed an item. After it was won, someone contacted me to say if the winner didn't pay could I offer them a 2nd chance since they'd bid higher but the bid appears not to have gone through. is there a way of finding out how this happened?

they're charging us for a pass-through cost? That's ridiculous. I sold an item of clothing for $40 - in most places that's below the sales tax threshold - it is in NY where I'm based, but they still charge those sales taxes

exactly - I sold and got paid last night, that would be in my PP account now, but no - it's waiting for payout by eBay, which will hit my bank Tues/Weds even though I selected daily payout. It's a worse system all-round (except for eBay's profits)

makes no sense - if you buy from a retailer in - say - Europe, who has no presence in the US then you're charged neither VAT nor sales tax. Why would you then pay sales tax on a purchase from a private individual in Europe?
