I live in California. I just placed an order with a seller in the United Kingdom. eBay charged me California sales tax on this order. Is that correct under California law? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the answer.

The answer is yes, California does collect tax on purchases from outside the U.S. Seehttp://www.cdtfa.ca.gov/taxes-and-fees/use-tax.htm#Foreign
