Im returning an unused car part. The selling is telling me to write "refused" on the box and shipping it myself, instead of using the ebay return label. Is this normal?

I ordered a part for a car. I Never even took it out of the box. The seller is asking me to not use the ebay label, write "refused" on the original label, and return it to USPS. When i ask for clarification i get the original response sent back to me...
