I have just been charged with sales tax on numismatic coin purchases
from Arizona, California, Connecticut, and Colorado. From my research
only California should be applied. This all started with the new July
1st rules.
Found this bad news in the new tax law:(j)1. Notwithstanding any other
provision of this chapter, there is herebylevied a tax on the sale, use,
consumption, or storage for use in this state ofany coin or currency,
whether in circulation or not, when ...
The last I read about FL sales tax rules, US rare coins are still
exempt. As is in the other states on my list except California where the
purchase must be above $1500.
